Message	Crystaline structures are geometric by nature. When water begins to freeze and crystalize it will follow a straight line. Has nothing to do with scratches. If the hood had been wet prior to freezing then you would possibly see it gravitate to scratches but doubtful as the surface tension would most likely not display this.
